Meet Our Pastor - Tommy Ross

Rev. William Thomas Ross, also known as Tommy, is a native to Georgia, born in 1983. He is 27 and grew up in Madison.
Tommy attended Piedmont College earning his Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy and a minor in Mass Communication. He worked for the college news paper as an editor and a radio DJ during his college career. Tommy also was given the opportunity to serve the college in many different roles.
After graduating from Piedmont in 2006, Tommy ventured to Erskine
Theological Seminary to continue his call to ministry. He was a very active part of the Erskine College and Seminary campus.
He served on the Student Body Association as the Graduate Life Council Chairman for two consecutive terms. The Graduate Life Council was responsible for seminary activities and maintaining a relationship between the college and seminary students. Tommy served as the Resident Director of McQuiston Hall for three years. Tommy was also responsible for Bible studies and small groups on campus.
He worked as the seminary video and audio technician for all seminary lecture series and chapels. He served Madison First United Methodist Church as their summer intern from 2006-2009. He was given experiences in serving many United Methodist churches across South Carolina while he was in seminary. Tommy spent time traveling to different churches to fill pulpits on Sunday morning when pastors were not able to attend.
A major focus of his ministry is youth fellowship. He has worked with youth for many years. Tommy hopes to continue his work with youth in the area.
Tommy enjoys many types of activities. He enjoys playing tennis and Frisbee. He loves spending time outside enjoying what nature has to offer. He also enjoys all types of music and movies.
Tommy is engaged to Rebekah Reid, an Erskine College student studying Psychology and Christian Education. They plan to get married in August 13,2011.
Tommy is a certified candidate for the North Georgia Conference. He will be going to the Board of Ordination in the Fall of 2011.
